Vilnius, Lithuania'da 40 Haftalık AGH - Day care center ''Children to Children''
A work in social center with 6-11 year children. Two day centers for children 6-11 year old, who live in poor material conditions, have emotional and behavior problems, have learning problems, and need psychological help. Main volunteer's tasks: 1. To spend some time individually with a child (as an elder brother) (15%) 2. To help children in doing homework, make handicrafts, to teach foreign language (15%) 3. To organise creative workshops in day care center (handicrafts, drama, computers, sports, cooking, arts…) (20%) 4. To attend events in the city with some children (10%) 5. Once per two month go with children to weekend trips in Lithuania (10%) 6. To help for organisation to organise some evening or other events (Christmas festival, Easter festival...) (10%) 7. To help organise summer camp for socially disadvantage children (10%) 8. To participate and organise activities which come out from own initiatives of Lithuanian young people and the volunteers (10 %)
Volunteer will live in a rented flat with other EVS volunteers. He will have his own room. In the flat volunteers will share kitchen, bathroom, hall. The main dishes, furniture and domestic electric appliances (washing-machine, cooker, and fridge) will be in the flat. Organization will give a local transport ticket, phone card, pocket money and food money.
Volunteer will get 4 trainings (in some cases – meetings) in your EVS: • pre-departure (in volunteer's home country organized by the Sending organization) • On-arrival training organized by Lithuanian National Agency about 2-3 weeks after arrival; • Mid-term training organized by Lithuanian National Agency approximately in the middle of the service); • Final evaluation (in volunteer's home country organized by the Sending organization)
We expect that you are interested to work with kids and would like to learn something important or new from this experience. We also expect that you are active and playing with kids is not a boring day activity for you. But at the same moment we hope that you could realize a moment and switch your crazy and happy playing mood to more serious and you could help kids to learn and talk about their problems.
